FREE Shredding Event: Saturday, Sept. 25

To educate consumers about the ongoing threat of identity theft and to offer a way to protect themselves, we will again hold our Shredder Event, which will allow residents to bring sensitive paperwork to be securely shredded. The event is set for Saturday, Sept. 25, at my district office in Clarion from 9-11 a.m.

We ask that people put their shredding in bags or boxes in their trunks or cargo areas and stay in their vehicles when coming to drop them off. We will then take the items so that we can have as contact-free of an event as possible.

Documents that are encouraged to be shredded include those with credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, medical information and bank account information. Residents are asked to bring just papers and documents in loose form. Magazines and books will not be accepted.
