Oberlander to Host Free Shredder Event Oct. 17
Residents may bring up to four boxes per person for shredding

CLARION – To help local residents protect their identities, Rep. Donna Oberlander (R-Clarion/Armstrong/Forest) will host a free shredder event on Saturday, Oct. 17, at her Clarion district office.

“With identity theft as one of the nation’s fastest-growing crimes, people are rightfully concerned about where their personal information may end up,” Oberlander said. “By allowing residents free use of an industrial-sized shredding truck, they can be assured that old documents, such as credit card statements, utility bills and medical bills, do not fall into the wrong hands.”

From 10 a.m. until noon, residents can drop off up to four boxes per person of unwanted documents with personal information for free. The materials to be shredder should not include newspapers, magazines or books. Paper clips and staples need not be removed before shredding.

Oberlander’s Clarion district office is located at 160 South Second Ave., Clarion.

For more information, call her district office at (814) 226-9000.

The service is being provided graciously by Shred X of Erie.
