Oberlander to Commemorate PA Lineworker Appreciation Day
WHO: Rep. Donna Oberlander (R-Clarion/Armstrong) and her legislative colleagues will hold a special ceremony to officially recognize June 22, 2014, as “Lineworker Appreciation Day” in Pennsylvania. The purpose of this event and Oberlander’s corresponding House Resolution 566 is to honor the thousands of men and women risking their lives every day to ensure the reliable delivery of electricity across the Commonwealth.

Throughout the ceremony a 16-foot statue representing a fallen lineman that has been traveling across the country to raise awareness on behalf of the Fallen Linemen Organization will be on display on Commonwealth Avenue. Also in attendance will be the surviving family members of Journey Lineman Michael Over, formerly of New Bethlehem, who was killed in an electrical contact accident on June 22, 2013, while on the job for Central Electric Cooperative in Perry Township, Armstrong County. 
WHEN: Monday, June 23, beginning at noon.

WHERE: State Capitol East Wing Fountain area, Harrisburg; in the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the East Wing Rotunda.
