Oberlander Confirms More Than $232,200 in Fire and Ambulance Grants Enroute to Clarion and Armstrong Counties
CLARION – Rep. Donna Oberlander (R-Clarion/Armstrong) announced today that 21 volunteer fire and ambulance companies throughout Clarion and Armstrong counties have qualified to receive approximately $232,244.12 from a grant program administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner.

“Whether it’s saving lives or protecting property, there are few duties that are more noble or essential than those that our volunteer emergency first responders courageously and selflessly perform on a regular basis,” said Oberlander. “I will continue to support the expansion of this funding because it is specifically designed to help them meet their basic financial needs and ever-increasing operating costs. I applaud all of the men and women of our volunteer companies for qualifying for this funding, and most importantly, for their service in keeping our communities safe.”

All funding comes from the proceeds from slot machine gaming, and not general fund tax revenue.
Projects eligible for funding include construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training, or reduction of existing debt.
