Oberlander District Office to Offer Free Property Tax/Rent Rebate Assistance in Rural Valley and Sugarcreek Township

ELDERTON –  Rep. Donna Oberlander’s (R-Armstrong/Clarion) district office staff will be available to provide FREE application assistance for the state’s 2012 Property Tax/Rent Rebate (PTRR) program and any other state-related issue in Rural Valley and Sugar Creek Township. 

Oberlander’s first PTTR assistance event will take place on Tuesday, March 5, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Rural Valley Fire Department located on 730 Main Street. The second event will be held on Wednesday, March 13 at the Sugarcreek Township Building located on 1807 State Route 268 in East Brady. 

Eligible participants can receive a rebate of up to $650 based on their rent or property taxes paid in 2012.   The program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians who are 65 years or older, widows and widowers 50 years or older, and those 18 years or older with disabilities.  Applications are due by June 30.

District 63 residents are reminded to provide all the necessary income, property tax or rental information required to process claims quickly and accurately.  2012 Property Tax/Rent Rebate claim forms are also available by contacting Oberlander’s Elderton district office at (724) 354-3500 and online at

The 63rd Legislative District includes the Armstrong County communities of Boggs, Bradys Bend, Cowanshannock, Hovey, Madison, Mahoning, Perry, Pine, Plumcreek, Sugarcreek, Washington and Wayne townships and Atwood, Dayton, Elderton, Rural Valley and South Bethlehem boroughs, as well as Parker City, and all of Clarion County.
